About Lodestar Check Cashing
Once your check is approved, your money will be sent to the prepaid account you chose when you submitted the check.
NOTE: Check cashing times will vary on weekends, holidays and during overnight hours (Eastern time).

Cashing a Check
- Sign the back of your check and place your check on a solid-colored background with the front-side up. Make sure the lighting is not dark.
- Sign-in to the Lodestar app and tap Cash a Check.
- Choose your funding method.
- Enter the amount of your check.
- Take a picture of the front of the check then take a picture of the back of the check.
- Tap Submit Check.
Every time you submit a check, you will choose where to send your money. The app will guide you step-by-step.
First, you have to have your accounts linked in Lodestar. If you need to set up your accounts, go to the main menu. To set up a bank account, tap Bank Accounts. To set up a debit card, tap Debit Card Details.
After Lodestar has approved your check, you will be prompted to send a picture of it with ‘VOID’ written across the front. This helps prevent a check from being cashed or deposited twice.
Do not write ‘VOID’ until you have received confirmation that your check was approved.
Lodestar reviews all checks that are submitted. If we are unable to process a check for a variety of reasons, such as the image was inconsistent, the limits are exceeded, data cannot be verified, account information from the check writer is off, we cannot tell you exactly because of privacy regulations.
If your check is not approved, you will receive a notification in the app (if you turned on the push notifications setting on your mobile device). Your account will not be funded and you will not be charged a fee.
